After an awesome return album with "Still Groovy", I really wanted to get comfortable back in the driver seat in producing some groovy tunes for y'all. I want to start off by saying I appreciate everyone listening to my jams so much, it means so much to me!!! So, now I got a new workflow of finding and clearing samples with Tracklib, and I had more time & energy to focus on the concept of the album, and trying new things!

This album is a collection of songs I've made and premiered at various URL Vaporwave Shows I've been lucky enough to play. But wrapped together into a album friendly flow, ready for physical releases! There's also a few new tracks on here where I did my own vocals! I'm really excited to hear what y'all think of that! And in true nostalgic vaporwave fashion, the album cover pays homage to one of my favorite Childhood games "Destroy All Monsters", a Godzilla fighting game for the Gamecube.

The concept for the album revolves around some Groovy Kaiju lore that I'm cooking up. It takes place before "Godzilla got Busy" in the timeline, and is the origin story of "Groovy". It introduces Groovy's friends, and how Groovy was originally summoned to drop all of these amazing tunes.

Most, if not all, of these songs were produced during my quarantine from Covid-19. Essentially, these songs were all me just imaging the feeling of what it will be like to get back out into the world after lockdown! Thankfully and gratefully, most of us in the US are now vaccinated against the virus, and I hope these happy tracks can accompany you as well as we start to leave lockdowns and things!

Lastly, and continuing on attempting to include more of myself in my music, this album definitely has influences from me being black, and some reflections on the current issues in the U.S. In particular, 1 in 1000 is probably the track I'm most proud of on the whole album. I spent a lot of time trying to craft something that, musically, could be my feelings on being black in US in today's world. It also serves as a Double entendre, in which similar to how it's a miracle that Kaiju risk their lives every day to protect others, it's an unfortunate miracle that black people (like myself) are able to survive all of the systemic problems thrown at them every day. Both physically and mentally. I felt like it was a great end to the album, similar to how a Kaiju would reflect on their battle once it is done, I hope that we to can find a peace at the end of this. Black lives matter.

Again, thank you all so much for vibin' and groovin' to my tunes. Please feel free to reach out whenever. And most of all, Stay Groovy! :)

Special Thanks:

Daniel / NetNavi: Yo let me know if you read this haha! But dude you the homie, and you know I always got you on anything dude. Thank you for all the collabs, feedback, inspiration, and coming up with the OG Groovy Godzilla name haha! And thanks for doing the Intro voice voice on Meant to be! I felt like it's the cherry on top for the track, and helps solidify that vapor-g-funk vibe haha! :)

Jordan: Aye yuh! I'm very thankful that we've been able to become so close lately dude. I had no clue you were like one of my biggest fans, and I'm stoked that we're able to really connect as brothers as of lately. You know I always got your back little bro!

Tupperwave: Dude, you are an absolute legend. Thank you SOOOOO much for the VTEC collab, and letting me put it on the album. I seriously mean it, but dude you are such a huge inspiration to me in the Vaporwave scene. And I'm really looking forward to working with you more in the future, and just listening to whatever you put out next! :)

Eyeclick (Enraile & Will): Yo it's not fair, y'all are such good friends to me, but also I'm such a big fan of your stuff haha! Thank you so much for inspiring some of my music (In particular, Baby Powder Incense), and thank you even more for being such cool people. I am REALLY looking forward to skating and slamming beers with y'all IRL! :)

Dsdude500: Yo dawg, thanks for being an awesome roommate, putting up with my shit, and giving me feedback on some of these early tracks. You got an amazing ear homie, and thanks for making me a little dangerous on the DJ Decks haha! :)

Pacific Plaza / Virtual Memory Family: Alyx, All Hell Breaks Loops, Earthboy Advance, DATAGIRL. I am so proud of everything everyone has been putting out. And I am so proud of everyone's personal life accomplishments. Thank you so much for letting me chill with y'all, I cannot express how much I appreciate being a part of this whole thing with all of y'all! :) (Also, special shoutout to AHBL for hosting all the VM stuff on Twitch and doing visuals. You are the Vapor Visuals GOAT, and you are the coolest dude IRL haha!)

Rosewood Homies: There's too many to name here, but I'll try my best! Just ask me to edit this if I didn't write you down haha! Enraile, Will, Male Tears, Agreg, Augnos, Stu, Jez, Sev, John Luke, Pete, Codex, Chief, Dsdude, Keb, POPCULTR, Lux, Luxz, Mittens, Molo, Ronny, Vaporwaveshine: I cannot express how grateful I am to have become friend with all of you. You all inspire me so much, and I am SO excited to see what we all do next :)

Skeleton Lipstick: YOOOOO! Dude, you are literally a legend in the scene. Thank you for being so cool, and being such a great guiding voice so many people. I especially want to shout you out for the advice on the songs I did my own vocals! And I also want to give you a huge shoutout for letting me sample you clip from the Hot Takes podcast on the intro track! Again, I'm very much looking forward to us chatting more, you're a great inspiration to me! :)

Yung Shiro: Dude, taking a quick step back. Thank you for being such a positive person, and such an awesome friend. I am really looking forward to chillin' IRL, it's going to be such a blast. IndyAdvant: Yo, when we playing rocket league? Haha! Dude I am kidding, but thank you for being such an awesome, passionate person. Everytime we work on something together, or just bullshit, I either feel like I had an awesome conversation with a long time friend, or that I grew as a person. So glad we've been able to connect more recently, and really looking forward to chillin' IRL! :) (Also, Utopia District forever, thank you SOOOO much running that dude. It's a ton of work, and you kill it haha!)

Mikayla M. (@mickeyn163): Thank you SOOOOOO much for doing the album art. I think it came out AMAZING, and I don't think it could have been done any better! Also, one of my favorite stories will be me reaching out, and you already being familiar with my music. I was like woah, the universe wanted us to work together and be fans of each others work haha! :) If anyone is reading this, please commission Mikayla, they do awesome work! :)
